Carl is a part-time artist and writer of spiritual websites, music, essays, and fiction. In 2001 he launched the Mystical Art and Talent Show at the Cambridge Swedenborg Chapel, and the accompanying website with artist directories at www.SoulStirring.org. The shows have been going strong ever since with many great contributing artists and speakers, requiring from Carl a level of curatorship previously seen in his personal site at www.AstralResearch.org which holds his writings and earlier spiritual art research. In 2002 Carl wanted to give comparable spotlight on the field of mystical cinema, so soon he researched and launched www.MysticalMovieGuide.com, which continues to grow with thousands of movie listings and many deep analyses from a mystical symbolic perspective. In 2007 Carl became the in-house movie reviewer for the online spiritual magazine at GlobalIntelligencer.com. In 2005 Carl got serious about writing his strange story ideas -- largely mystical of course -- for a genre which he calls Consciousness Fiction. In the 2007 Mystical Art and Talent Show, Carl read "My Afterlife" from his new collection of shorts which is available in chapbook form. In the 2008 show, Carl presented his latest mystical research with dream terrain charts. For details you can email Carl at carl@soulstirring.org
Carl is happily married with children, and works at a Boston search engine company (search your own website with PicoSearch!). |

I believe in a return to innocence by choice. Spontaneity is highly overrated. No one could tell me how transparently unnecessary were the dramatic ego trappings of my various adaptations to society during my various ages, I had to find out for myself. Now I can be more me more than I could before, and still with the help of many friends will I be more me tomorrow... the me I dreamed of yesterday, inarticulately.

Spiritual Protest Song
lyrics i will sing!

Every man a map,
every woman love.
Each child in a lap,
glory streams above.

The guardians have maps!
The angels have the love!
Sitting in God's lap,
we bring the glory from above,
here below,
now you know.

See it in their faces,
see it in their eyes.
See it in their fantasies,
what takes them by surprise.

We all have affections
for heavens and for hells!
But the one who plans for everyone
is in whom the glory swells.
I can tell,
I can tell.

In the wheels,
In the wheels.
Many are the years.
In the wheels,
In the wheels.
Many are the tears.

And he who has the ears will hear.
And she who has the heart will not fear.

We all have affections
for heavens and for hells!
But the one who plans for everyone
is in whom the glory swells.
I can tell,
I can tell.

We're all motivated
for the spirits at our side.
The house of worship we become
is good or bad inside.

No one is not spiritual!
Drives you cannot conceive against!
The naked truth your mind will clothe,
with love or ignorance.
Defiance:
just a broken dance.

In the wheels,
In the wheels.
Many are the years.
In the wheels,
In the wheels.
Many are the tears.

And he who has the ears will hear.
And she who has the heart will not fear.

Every man a map,
every woman love...

| Here's me and my guitar about 1978, age 15. My first song was about some half-described Utopia "do you think that someday we will ever see a world as beautiful as mine..."
