Brenda grew up in Rockport, Massachussetts in a family that consistently encouraged creativity and experimentation with various art media. Brenda pursued an art education at the University of Massachussetts in Amherst, with further classes in illustration at the Art Institute of Boston and the New England School of Art and Design. In 1991, Brenda began working in pastel and taking instruction from her professional artist mother, Betty Wiberg. An exhibition of pastels of tribal masks at a local library in 1995 got Brenda started with making spirit masks out of clay. A popular website dedicated to Brenda's work can be visited at www.spiritmasks.com. Brenda is also a Polarity Realization Therapist with interests in shamanism, metaphysical literature, spiritual pursuits of the body and mind, and healing arts.

| "Mother Earth" by Brenda Wiberg, Pastel Painting on Canson paper.
"This piece evolved from a sketch of a dream I had of this woman. Including the baby and natural elements were ideas that came as I envisioned this woman embracing creation." - Brenda
