Betty Allenbrook Wiberg was born in London and emigrated to the United States as a child. She received a fine arts scholarship to attend Boston University, and she completed her formal training at the Massachusetts College of Art. She continued to study under her father Charles T. Allenbrook, a well known portrait artist, and Betty continues to practice portraiture professionally to this day. Betty's works are in private collections as well as on public view; she is active with the Cambridge Swedenborg Chapel and her portraits of the ministers as well as Emanuel Swedenborg can be seen in the parlor there. Her studio and gallery are located at 90 South Street, Rockport, Massachusetts, and during the popular Wiberg art open-houses she can be met with her equally talented daughters Brenda and Margaret, as well as her inventor husband Lars, who is president of the Cambridge Swedenborg Chapel.
