  Benyamin Sheppard: Compositions and intuitive sound healing with guitar, flutes, oud, bouzouki, didgeridoo, percussion, and voice Benyamin Sheppard is a musician, composer, healer, writer, engineer, new media and web alchemist. Ben's roots go back to the Texas Gulf coast where he was influenced by a combination of New Orleans jazz, Delta blues, Mexican polkas, and Caribbean music. Ben migrated to the Boston area to study music and electrical engineering, and he received a Bachelor of music composition from the New England Conservatory. Today, Ben can usually be found performing with musicians from diverse ethnic groups and traditions including Irish, Eastern European, Turkish, Klezmer, Latin, African, and Delta Blues, playing exotic instruments such as the bouzouki, oud, ney, harmonica, mbira, and didgeridoo.
  Ben's spiritual training in Reiki, Kriya Yoga, and harmonic chant has also led him to using his music for healing and shamanic work. Ben is a member of the Bluegate healing music ensemble (www.bluegatemusic.com) and co-founder (with Michelle Herrera Foster) of NESHRI, the New England Sound Healing Research Institute (www.neshri.org) ; they are sharing their vision of transforming health, consciousness, and world peace through sound and music.
